Barbara Schmidt

Managing Director

Barbara is an experienced health service manager, project manager, and consultant who has been working in the rural, remote and Indigenous primary health care and aged care context for over 30 years.

Barbara has held executive management level positions in Queensland and the Northern Territory in areas relating to Health Policy, Planning and Operational Management.

Barbara specialises in strategic and operational management, change management, systems redesign, program implementation and preparing services for accreditation and quality review.


Melanie van Haaren

Workforce Planning and Training Advisor

Melanie is a registered nurse and an experienced primary health care practitioner, professional leader and service manager. She is well known for her skills in developing customised education and training packages.


Melanie established the first private school of nursing in the Northern Territory and has been a nurse advisor to many countries in the South Pacific.


Melanie is skilled at supporting services with training to meet industry requirements, quality improvement activities and assisting services with implementing best practice workforce development and service delivery strategies.


Leeann Mick-ramsamy

PHC Consultant and Educator

Leeann is an Aboriginal woman with traditional links to Kokoberra and Kungen (Western Cape York/Chillagoe), Kutatj (Gulf of Carpentaria) and Western Kuku Yalanji (Palmer River/Maytown). Leeann has worked in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health for more than 30 years and has with extensive networks throughout Australia.

Leeann has expertise in health policy and planning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and has supported many community organisations to establish the governance structures and staff capacity to deliver community based services.

Leeann has experience at delivering aged cand disability services, strategic and community engagement/community development.


Dympna Leonard

Nutrition Advisor

Dympna is a public health nutritionist and clinical dietitian who has worked mainly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Far North Queensland. Dympna has a broad range of professional interests from nutrition in early life, food security, chronic disease prevention and management, to nutrition for healthy ageing.


Dympna has worked in clinical service provision, in public health nutrition program leadership, and in developing nutrition training for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers. In addition to Australia, Dympna has worked in Asian and Pacific Island nations. Dympna completed her PhD in 2020.


Dympna can assist with menu planning, menu reviews and practical advice on how to achieve healthy nutrition for healthy ageing in regional and remote Australia.

Donna Corrie

Administrator

Donna Corrie is a strong Aboriginal, Wuthathi and Torres Strait Islander Woman who is also a highly committed and extremely dedicated professional with emphasis on quality, milestones and completion of work.


Donna is also passionate about influencing policy at a national level to implement change. She is experienced in developing and implementing education and training programs to elevate disadvantaged groups, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, children, youths, women, multi-cultural groups, people with a disability and older people.
